Zixuan (Cindy) Jia

I am from the Affiliated School of Jinan University for Hong Kong and Macao Students and serve as President of the Student Union. I am also the Academic Vice President of the Student Committee for the China Region of the International Economics Olympiad.

I am interested in how institutions, technology, and development shape socioeconomic opportunities—and why those opportunities remain deeply unequal. Growing up in a Tibetan Buddhist family has also shaped my interest in exchanges between different cultures.

Through research and writing, I have explored the impacts of education policy and technological development on socioeconomic mobility, as well as the long-term effects of fiscal transfers across Chinese provinces on spatial development.Through work with monasteries, museums, and publishing institutions in Tibetan regions, I have helped digitize and preserve Tibetan cultural materials.
